Appointments

How does our appointment system work?

Appointments are only available to individuals who have been referred to us.

Due to limited space, we operate individual timed appointments of 15 minutes during the Store's opening hours. If you arrive early, you will need to wait outside the Store until the previous customer's appointment has finished. You will have a maximum of 15 minutes inside the Store to select the items on your shopping list from the products that are available at the time of your visit.

If you are unwell, can no longer make your scheduled appointment or, are running late - please phone or email us immediately.

WHAT TO EXPECT

An empty supermarket trolley in front of stocked shelves in the Community Store.

The Community Store can provide basic household and personal hygiene items, a wide range of tinned/packet goods and a small range of perishables such as fresh fruit & veg, butter, cheese, yoghurts and frozen items. We may not always have perishables in stock. Most foodbanks only supply 3 days worth of basic food – we strive to provide a more substantial offering, but it should never be expected that we supply 100% of a household’s needs.

Preparing for your appointment

Top tips for making your appointment: run smoothly:

  • make a list of what you need before you come - see below for one you can use as a prompt;
  • bring shopping bags with you and a cool bag if you have one;
  • if you are coming by car, there is free on-site parking;
  • arrive on time;
  • we have a small trolley you can use for your shop ;
  • due to limited space, not all products are on display; Please ask a volunteer if you can't find a particular product that you need and they will let you know if it is available.
